Beauty & the Beach

Lisa Ricci, PA-C and owner of Beauty & the Beach is simply put, a miracle worker.  I discovered Lisa over the summer and love her conservative approach to botox and fillers, as well as her proactive approach to anti-aging.  She has the most fabulous and private studio located near Wrightsville Beach, NC.  She offers an array of services, which I will include below.  To know Lisa is to love her, she has the most professional and relaxing demeanor.  I’m not exactly afraid of being poked (or lasered) at this point, but find Lisa’s skills and bedside manner really take the edge off.

Services Offered:

  • Botox
  • Filler (Voluma, Juvaderm Ultra, Juvaderm Ultra Plus
  • Venus Viva Skin Resurfacing: is a non-surgical solution for skin resurfacing that corrects signs of skin damage and improves the appearance of acne scars and other scars, stretch marks, rosacea, enlarged pores, deep wrinkles, and uneven skin texture and pigmentation.

IPL: Photorejuvenation

Regretfully, I spent a fair amount of high school and college baking in the tanning bed.  I had an unlimited membership and went almost daily.  Now, I’m working to reverse some of the sun damage and freckles and to rebuild collagen via IPL.  I am working toward having skin where I can throw on tinted moisturizer and run out the door.  IPL can be done on many areas–the most common include the face, neck, chest and hands.  You can only get IPL on areas that have not been exposed to sun, making winter an ideal season for treatments.  I typically get 1-3 IPL treatments on my face every winter.  This winter Lisa has done two on me.  I’m not sure if its her new laser or the fact she knows my skin so well, but my results have been incredible.  Unfortunately, I am sharing before and afters of the second treatment, so you are missing out on some of the awesome pigment she pulled out the first go-round.  IPL isn’t just great for those looking to even their skin tone, its amazing for building collagen and penetrates deep into the skins dermis making it a great alternative for someone who is not looking to start botox or fillers but want to be proactive and build your collagen and take preventative measures.  When planning an IPL appointment, be sure you don’t have a big event coming up in the next 1-1.5 weeks because you will be slightly swollen, a little red, and the laser brings any pigment to the surface and darkens it, before it eventually flakes off.  You can typically cover up the darkened pigment with make-up depending on how much you have.  If you have specific questions or want to book an appointment with Beauty and the Beach you can reach Lisa on Instagram at @beautyandthebeachilm or by phone (910)465-2921.
